The opposition
An opposition is two planets straight across the zodiac. They pull in two directions, and you look for a balance between them.
What an opposition means
An opposition links signs that face each other: Aries and Libra, Taurus and Scorpio. The two planets see each other clearly and want different things. People often live one side and meet the other in a partner or a rival. The work is to own both ends.
Angle and orb
An opposition is 180° between two planets. Few aspects are exact, so astrologers allow an orb, a margin either side. Solstice uses 10° for an opposition between planets in your chart.
