Aspects

An aspect is an angle between two planets. It tells you whether they work together or get in each other’s way, in your birth chart and in the sky each day.

The five major aspects

• The conjunction: Two planets fused into one force.
• The sextile: An open door, if you walk through it.
• The square: Friction that forces a move.
• The trine: Easy flow and natural talent.
• The opposition: A tug of war that asks for balance.

Aspects in transits

A transit is a planet in today’s sky making an aspect to a planet in your birth chart. Slow planets hold an aspect for months, and those are the transits people feel most. See the transits.
