The sextile

A sextile is two planets two signs apart. It is an open door: an easy link that works when you use it.

What a sextile means

A sextile links signs that get on well: fire with air, earth with water. The two planets help each other, but more quietly than a trine. A sextile is a chance. It pays off when you act on it and stays quiet when you do not.

Angle and orb

A sextile is 60° between two planets. Few aspects are exact, so astrologers allow an orb, a margin either side. Solstice uses 6° for a sextile between planets in your chart.
