The twelfth house is what lies behind the scenes: rest, solitude, the unconscious and the things you keep to yourself.

What the twelfth house covers

The twelfth house is the last house, just above the rising sign. It covers sleep, dreams, retreat, hospitals, prisons, hidden enemies, secret help and self-undoing. Planets here work out of sight. A Sun here may shine best when no one is watching. Saturn here carries old fears that ask to be named.

It hath signification of private Enemies, of Witches, great Cattle, as Horses, Oxen, Elephants, &c. Sorrow, Tribulation, Imprisonments, all manner of affliction, self-undoing.

Transits through the twelfth house

Transits through the twelfth house slow you down. They bring rest, endings and inner work, and prepare the ground before a planet crosses the ascendant.
