Pluto square Sun

Pluto moves slowly, so its square to your Sun lasts for years. Something in how you use your will has to change, and the change is permanent.

What it means

Pluto is power and the kind of change that does not reverse. In a square to your Sun, it presses on your sense of self: who you are when the old title, role or relationship is gone. Power struggles come with it, at work, at home and inside your own head.

For most of those years it is a background pressure, a low hum under ordinary weeks. Near the exact hits it comes to the surface. People on the far side often know what they want and say it out loud.

Who has it now

Active on Nov 6, 2026 if you were born Apr 18 to Apr 29 or Oct 21 to Nov 1, any year. That is within 6°, the orb the app uses. Your birth time and year can move this by a day.

Pluto is in Aquarius until 2043, so for years this transit reaches people born with the Sun in Taurus or Scorpio, a few days of birthdays at a time.

How long it lasts

Within 6°, Pluto square Sun lasts 70 to 129 months. Pluto hits the exact degree 3 or 5 times, because it turns retrograde on the way. The months near an exact hit are the strongest.

In the app

Solstice shows this transit when it is within orb of your Sun. Tap it, and the card shows each part:

• Pluto. Pluto works underground — power, obsession, death-and-rebirth cycles. It moves slowly and changes things permanently. Where it sits is where life keeps composting you into someone new.
• Square. A square is a 90° angle — friction. The two planets want different things and won't agree. Reads as tension that pushes you to grow if you don't mistake it for incompatibility.
• Sun. The Sun is your core orientation — what you are trying to become. Less about who you are right now and more about what you are growing into. The sign of your Sun describes the project of your life.
